This is Curly
An amazing history of events that affected the life of a young boy from an early age to the present tme. Describing his first vivid recollection of life when only 5 days from birth. Born under traumatic and extremely sad circumstances, during which his mother tragically died from complications when giving birth.
From his first day at school and beyond, when close to his sixth birthday; the loss of his father deeply affected him for many years after. Feeling alone and realising that he must find his own way through life; especially when notified that he was a failure for not passing the notorious eleven plus examination, that never was an exam, because it was more akin to a lottery. He never did accept that he failed, which affected many facets of his future life.
From job selection, personally arranged and secured prior to leaving school at age fifteen, he was accepted for apprentice training, working at the same place until qualified. After being married for only two weeks, he travelled to Africa to find a better job. Arriving with less than £15.00 in his pocket, he secured two jobs located in the Southern African state of Rhodesia and Nyasaland.
In younger days, he recalls the trauma of being sexually assaulted several times including one at gun point.
He was consistently given negative responses, whenever future aspirations were mentioned. He could never hope to own a boat, yet later in life, ordered a new purposely built sail boat, made to his own specifications and sailed to other countries.
Describing how he sailed along the Cote d' azure, St. Trope'z, Juan la Pin and dropping anchor in Monte Carlo, when visiting Monaco. That was after quitting his first job after completion of his apprenticeship.
He designed and was granted a British patent for a device that he manufactured and marketed internationally; personally establishing accounts in more than thirty countries.
This product is still in use today. He completely changed the methodology within the life science industry for the identification of live models for chronic studies within the worlds leading pharmaceutical research centres and universities, even though having limited knowledge of this industry.
His childhood days were fraught with dangerous activities as painfully described within this authentic and true presentation. An unusual story as portrayed by an unusual person..
